The launch date for the new, KHQ-produced “Fox 28 News First at Ten” is March 15.

Patricia McRae, KHQ’s news director, said that the station is putting the finishing touches on picking an anchor team.

KHQ signed a contract at the end of January to take over the KAYU-28 news broadcast. The broadcast will be broadcast in the KHQ studios.

Stratton’s plans

Linda Stratton, the main anchor at KAYU, will not be part of the new newscast.

Stratton said she has not been offered a job by KHQ, so she plans to move to Las Vegas, where her sister lives, and conduct a job search from there.

She said she plans to apply for broadcast jobs all over the country.

“I’m looking at it as an opportunity,” said Stratton.

In her 4 ½ years with KAYU, Stratton has become well-regarded in local broadcast circles. However, she said nothing has opened up locally.
