KAYU sale called off

September 7, 1988

The Spokesman-Review

The sale of Spokane independent TV station KAYU to a Seattle broadcast group has been called off.

Bingham Communications of Seattle, which owns properties in central and Western Washington, originally offered $7.7 million for the station. Bingham ran into trouble arranging financing the purchase and KAYU decided not to conclude the deal, said Bob Hamacher, the station’s general manager.

KAYU (Channel 28) is an affiliate of the Fox Broadcast Co.
