Maureen O’Boyle, a KREM-TV news c0-anchor for the past two years, will leave town for another broadcast job next week.

O’Boyle has been hired as national correspondent for a weekly newsmagazine program, “A Current Affair.” The program is produced by the Fox Television Network in New York and syndicated to about 80 cities in the country.

O’Boyle came to KREM as newscaster in July 1986 from Macon, Ga. Her last day at the station will be July 22, she said.

Phil Wenstrand, KREM news director, said he hasn’t decided whether to fill the evening co-anchor’s job with someone now at the station or an outside applicant.

“This is a case where we couldn’t keep one of our people because she was too good,” Wenstrand said. “Maureen got a chance for a major career move and she took it.”
