TV station’s owner dies of heart attack
Gene Adelstein, owner and general partner of KSKN television, died Saturday of an apparent heart attack in West Palm Beach, Fla.
He was 45.
Adelstein bought KSKN, Channel 22, last September. Staff at the Spokane station has grown from 10 employees to 45 since the purchase, according to a company statement.
Adelstein graduated in 1961 from the University of Missouri journalism school. He started his career in television news, then began buying various television and radio stations.
His wife, Ellen Adelstein, said she will assume leadership of the station.
“We will continue what Gene Adelstein started,” she said in a written statement.
Adelstein’s survivors include his wife and three children, his father and a sister.
