Mike Fitzsimmons, television news director at KXLY since last September, has been reassigned as KXLY’s radio news director, station management announced Thursday.

There was no word on who may fill Fitzsimmons’ old job.

Stephen R. Herling, KXLY vice president and general manager, said Fitzsimmons will replace Bob Hoff, who will fill a new position, agriculture director, for both television and radio.

Dan Schmarr will become weekday weather reporter beginning Sept. 6, Herling said, and Toni Boggan has been named the station’s public affairs director. Boggan will continue her role on “The Noon Show,” he added.

Fitzsimmons will anchor KXLY-AM’s morning newscasts, Herling said. Fitzsimmons held a similar post at KSPO radio before moving to KXLY.
