Stations Seek Merger Favor

The Federal Communications Commission has received an application for a merger of Spokane station KXLY and KXLY-TV with KELP Television Corporation, El Paso, Texas, it was reported today from Washington, D.C.
The commission announced that under terms of the merger, KXLY, operating as Northern Pacific Television Corporation, would be absorbed by KELP. Stock of both companies is owned by Norman E. Alexander, president and Joseph Harris, chairman of the board of directors of both companies.
James R. Agostino, vice president and general manager of the two stations, said the merger would result in no change in operations here.
