KXLY-TV Planning Telecast for Sunday
Spokane Daily Chronicle
Spokane station KXLY-TV, allotted television Channel 4 by the Federal Communications Commission last July, expects to start telecasts Sunday at 3 p.m.
Edward Craney, general manager, and W. Norman Hawkins, TV manager, both said that except for a few final checks on equipment, everything is in readiness for commercial programming.
KXLY-TV, which has installed its tower and transmitter on Mount Spokane, originally had planned to be on the air by last Christmas, but was delayed by severe weather conditions.
The station, which will offer Columbia Broadcasting and DuMont Company network shows as well as local productions, is planning weekday programs from 4 p.m. until midnight, with Sunday telecasts from 8 p.m. until midnight.
