Many Television Network Shows Set for Spokane

Network shows in broad variety have been booked or are in the negotiation stage, officials at KHQ-TV and KXLY-TV have announced.

KHQ-TV, already on the air with daily telecasts, listed the following National Broadcasting and American Broadcasting Company shows:

“Time for Beany”, “What’s My Name”, “The Lone Ranger”, “Hollywood Screen Test”, “Robert Montgomery Presents”, “Telesports Digest”, “Headliners Parade”, “Short Short Drama”, “Milton Berle”, “Two for the Money”, “Club Embassy”, “Terry and the Pirates”, “Name’s the Same”, “The Aldrich Family”, “Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. Presents”, “Martin Kane”.

Others Listed

“This Is Your Life”, “The Cisco Kid”, “Abbott and Costello”, “Groucho Marx”, “Dangerous Assignment”, “Dennis Day”, “The Life of Riley”, “You Asked for It”, “Chance of a Lifetime”, “TV Teen Club”, “Your Show of Shows”, “Your Hit Parade”, “Boston Blackie”, “Mr. Peepers”, “Comedy Hour” and the “TV Playhouse”.

More than half of the shows already have been signed and bookings are being sought on the others, KHQ-TV officials said.

Definitely signed by KXLY-TV are “The Plainclothesman”, “Where Was I?” and “Life Is Worth Living” featuring Bishop Fulton J. Sheen—DuMont company telecasts—and the following Columbia Broadcasting System shows:

“Strike It Rich”, “Burns and Allen”, “My Friend Irma”, “Mr. and Mrs. North”, “The Omnibus Hour” and “I Love Lucy”.

W. Norman Hawkins, KXLY television manager, said other network shows are in the negotiation stage.
