County Groups Want Legislation to Keep Channels

The Spokesman-Review

Educational television has gained the support of the Spokane County United School Groups.

The television support proposal was adopted as part of the organization’s legislative program at a meeting Saturday, according to President S.R. Brumm of the Central Valley district.

“We approved a resolution asking the state legislature to request from the Federal Communications Commission extension of the June, 1953, expiration date on the allocation of television channels for educational purposes,” he said.

“The resolution included support of the groups working for educational television within the state and support of appropriations for educational television.”
