Spokane Daily Chronicle

Application for television Channel 4 has been filed with the Federal Communications Commission by a partnership formed by radio station KXLY, Bing Crosby and a group of Spokane associates.

With Crosby in the venture, according to Ed Craney, general manager of KXLY, are Dr. Joseph W. Lynch, Robert P. Porter and Mahlon B. Rucker.

Dr. Lynch said today the partnership was formed about a month ago, shortly after the FCC lifted the freeze on channel applications.

Crosby was the first to file application for TV channels in Spokane, Yakima and Tacoma. Later the channel he sought in Spokane was designated by the FCC for educational purposes.
