Spokane Will View Television Exhibit

January 2, 1952

Spokane Daily Chronicle

Spokane will get its first view of television next Monday when a wired system which will transmit a live show to receivers in the Spokane Hotel will be set in operation.

The “exhibit” is being presented through facilities of KXLY and the Pacific Northwest XL stations. Ed Craney, president of KXLY, said about $50,000 worth of equipment is being brought to Spokane for the demonstration.

Loyd Anderson, manager of the Spokane, said screens will be in the main dining room, the new banquet rooms and the cocktail lounge. Shows will be nightly from 5 until about 11:30, he said, and will be televised by a mobile camera which can be moved from place to place in the hotel.
