Plans to build a chain of television broadcast stations to include Spokane, Tacoma and Yakima were disclosed here yesterday by Bing Crosby.

Crosby said he had applied to the Federal Communications Commission for permits to build the stations, the first of which will be at Tacoma and will cost about $210,000. Operating costs will be around $125,000 a station, Crosby said.

Bing expressed enthusiasm for his plan and said, “Once we get FCC approval we can go right ahead.”

Everett Crosby, brother of the famous singer, said in Tacoma that the request is for television channels. Engineers in Spokane studying possibilities for the station favored a Mica Peak site for the television transmitter, he said.
